XIMO Health Golden Energy Shot Ingredients: Supplement Facts Label

Today, XIMO Health released the supplement label that will be found on both the sample packs and the bottles. This is for the more potent reformulated energy shot product slated to release in about 5 weeks.

Particularly interesting is the 100 mg of caffeine. I reposted a CBSNews report on 5-Hour Energy and their analysis showed that their product contained more than twice the caffeine as a XIMO Energy shot.

Furthermore, XIMO uses naturally derived caffeine in our product. It's the combination of active herbs inside this product that give you the hours of energy boost, mental focus/clarity and possible weight loss. In the future, I will list each ingredient separately and explain their common uses in supplements.

Instant energy shots: Testing the latest supplemental craze

Editors note: I thought you might enjoy this report on our competition. XIMO doesn't hide its caffeine content - in fact the new energy shot is slated to have about 100 mg of caffeine per serving. This is half of the caffeine found in 5-Hour Energy reported by CBS in this article ... XIMO uses its herbal blend to provide sustained energy - all at a more affordable price. That's why I think it's going to go like gang-busters starting next month.

(CBS) It's one tiny bottle that promises to pack a lot of energy. And with an advertising budget of close to $90 million, the 5-hour Energy shot has America's attention.

Its promise is pretty appealing: no sugar, just a little caffeine, and a lot of vitamins to get you going. But are their claims too good to be true?

For many exhausted Americans, the idea of an instant energy shot is an alluring one. One of the most popular is the brand 5-hour Energy.

"5-hour Energy has seen huge growth in the last year. They control about 12 percent of the overall energy drink market, which is about $9 billion in sales," according to Natalie Zmunda of Advertizing Age.

The reviews are mixed:

"I think they definitely did something to stimulate you for awhile," says one tester.

"I didn't get a boost. I actually fell asleep on it," says another.

But these little bottles are making quite a big splash.

"They're really starting to go broad," Zmunda tells CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller. "It's not just men anymore; its men and women. Its 40 year olds, 50 year olds."

Commercials for the product downplay caffeine's role:

"It contains about as much caffeine as a cup of the leading premium coffee."

Instead, attributing the boost in energy to a special "blend" of vitamins:

"Its key ingredients can be found in everyday foods like avocados, broccoli, and bananas."

But some experts say these ads are misleading. "Energy is not obtained from vitamins or minerals. The feeling that you might get from this product is from the caffeine," says Dr. Tod Cooperton.

In fact, Dr. Cooperton of ConsumerLab.com ran tests on 5-hour Energy and found it has more caffeine than advertised.

According to the report, one shot contained 207 mg of caffeine. That's 15 percent more than the 180 mg of caffeine found in an 8 oz. cup of Starbucks Bold.

At up to $4 a shot, that's pretty expensive for energy that comes mainly from caffeine.

"The extra vitamins are not going to do anything for you," says Cooperton.

"The Early Show" took the findings to a representative for 5-hour Energy, but she stood by the advertised claims.

"The amount of caffeine is similar to what’s in one premium cup of coffee and the amount of B vitamins are essential for the energy metabolism - and for boosting the furnace of the powerhouse of the cells to provide energy," says Dr. Kathy O'Neil-Smith of 5-hour Energy.

Because energy drinks are considered dietary supplements, the FDA doesn't require them to list caffeine amounts. So if that's a number you'd like to know, you're probably better off with a cup of joe.

CBS News Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton warns that too much caffeine can be especially harmful for teens and pregnant women. For the rest of us, taking in too much can lead to nervousness, insomnia, rapid heart beat, increased blood pressure and nausea.

For most people, 200-300 mg of caffeine - about two to four cups of coffee - is OK.

Also, when mixed with alcohol, energy drinks can lead to dangerous drinking. Some pre-mixed alcoholic energy drinks, like Four Loko, have been banned by the FDA.

If you're the type who needs an energy boost, there are other ways to increase your level of alertness.

Dr. Ashton says you can fight your afternoon fatigue with exercise - even a walk around the block may perk you up. Maintaining a healthy sleep schedule can also boost your energy, as well as a power nap.

If you're feeling sluggish, drink more water. Ashton says you may be dehydrated, which we tend to forget during the winter because it's so cold.

She also suggests having a small power snack of protein, like a handful of nuts.

Comparing 5 Hour Energy Shots to The Competition

Author: Kristoffer Howes

Introduced to the energy supplement marketplace in 2004, 5 Hour Energy is considered the original two-ounce energy shot. Despite dozens of comparable products, 5 Hour Energy remains the most recognized and most popular energy shot; among consumers.

Many of the energy drinks found in today's marketplace, contain unwanted ingredients and additives. These have been known to include (up to):

  • 12 tsp. of sugar
  • 200 calories
  • 16 oz. of fluid

Often, the combination of these ingredients can leave consumers "wired", and prone to an undesirable "sugar crash". In contrast, the 5 hour energy shot contains no sugar, as little as four calories; and as much caffeine as a cup of premium coffee. Best of all, 5 hour energy shots contain a blend of B vitamins, amino acids, essential nutrients and no herbal stimulants. This product can provide more energy; with less to drink and faster results.

Some energy drinks come in sizes that range from 8 to 32 ounces, and must be refrigerated to taste right. The 5 Hour Energy shot taste good at any temperature, and are sold in a convenient 2 oz bottle; for easy storage and transport. Furthermore, the small container can be resealed for later consumption; if required. It is however, strongly recommended that consumers discard any remainder; within seventy-two hours of opening. Refrigeration is still not required.

It is important to note that 5 Hour Energy does contain caffeine, and as such, consumers should limit their intake; to avoid nervousness, sleeplessness and occasional rapid heartbeat. The developers of this energy product, have advised participants to limit their consumption, to two bottles of 5 Hour Energy shots a day; consumed several hours apart. As well, participants may experience a warm feeling, with related redness of the skin redness. This is known as a Niacin Flush, and is a result of increased blood flow near the skin; caused by Niacin (Vitamin B3). This effect should last only a few minutes.

If there isn't a clinical term for introversion, then there ought to be. It can be a immobilizing peculiarity whose function is to inhibit even the most gifted or delightful individuals from reaching their full up potential. While we had been teenagers a lot of us suffered from it, particularly when dealing with somebody we liked within the other gender. That flash of unwanted attraction would make us to blush neon red, and we stumble on our words. The majority of us have grown beyond it, nevertheless unluckily some folks are affected by it throughout their lives. Directing someone to "merely get beyond it" would often almost certainly force them to become worse hence they withdraw more into their solitude.

If you plan on engaging in XIMO, nervousness will truly thwart your labors. Endorsing XIMO as a result of its actual disposition includes reaching to be knowledgeable about folks, and if you are not adept to take on the opening step to familiarize yourself, you might be hiding in the restroom for a good part of the day before everyone notices that you have gone!

If you are bashful, and contrary to your private off-putting thoughts on the subject, wariness will be defeated by learning a quantity of other social abilities simultaneously. Start gradually in the beginning, and should you find a good drink can help - have one!

Here i will discuss ten tips that would cause networking in XIMO a little bit more relaxed for every person:

1. Don't leap in at the deep end and agree to a request to a massive XIMO networking get-together. You can come across types of folks who all understand each other and who might get together in cliques. You'll catch yourself bouncing off people's backs along with starting to get stressed out and frustrated.

Set out by way of a minor sermon maybe, where you can introduce yourself to several persons beforehand and after, and never down alone behind everyone! Be sure that you sit beside folks you don't yet know, and attempt to loosen up. Work your way to a small regional enterprise assemblage that possibly will be made of of folks from your town, such that you previously bear a little something familiar among them. You are able to at least include yourself by articulating what section of city you reside in. Set out small; form your self-assurance and work up to the subsequent level. When you arrive at the mammoth XIMO networking event, you would discover that people would often come up to you for the reason that they've previously remembered you at what's-his-name's lecture, or a previous month's group get-together.

2. Make sure you possess all you require along with you. You'll find it easy to forget effects whilst you are uneasy. It may be a part of you figuring that should you overlook something of great consequence, it will be a excellent excuse to go home and not come back! Compose a listing well beforehand that might include reading glasses, business cards and printed literature you might require, your ticket to the conference, and take a tiny notebook or you can use your cell phone for notes.

3. Are you certain in the way you come across? Being positive that you appear proficient can truly augment your confidence. Get your hair styled, manicure your fingernails and make sure that your trouser suit is pressed and unsoiled. Make sure your shoes look good and set up your attire around about a week earlier. In this way should you discover a nasty spot on your clothing you will come up with the opportunity to have it cleaned or replaced!

4. Which person would you prefer to talk to when you show up, and what would you prefer to talk about? Write down your queries and go through asking them, even when it is to yourself in a mirror, such that you will be less prone to be tongue-tied.

5. Ensure your breath is clean; take a pack of gum or a few mints in your pocket in addition to don't forget to smile. Individuals are much more likely to talk to you should you seem to be in high spirits. A big frown would often turn each one off.

6. When you are blessed enough to meet a big name you recognize, respectfully request to be presented to a few of his friends and connections, but do not cling on him like a parasite. He is in attendance for his own reasons and to perform his own interacting.

7. Should you have a peculiar name, laugh about it. Laughter will help everyone unwind. If you spill your beverage, just mop it up and carry on, once more, seek to make up a minute joke regarding it. Needn't make an apology all the time, since YOU finish up appearing "pathetic".

8. If there does exist an individual present you could learn from, considerately ask the clever queries which you have by now organized, and pay attention to his replies. There exists nothing more bothersome than people who interject constantly. If you should hear their answer, odds are that may show the way you into further queries.

See - you initiated a two-way dialogue, painless, wasn't it? At the present you're beginning to meet people, to exchange ideas - to network!

9. At the finish of the event don't just grab your jacket and rush in return to shelter. Say goodbye on the way out. It's regular courtesy and this is striking how only some decent etiquette are left out there!

10. Should an individual say "call me" or "email me", be sure that you deliver. If this really is a person you was introduced to for a short time, remind him respectfully which person you are and why that you are calling, first and foremost of your cellular phone chat or email message. Just never reply "I am the odd gentleman who has the weird surname," or something like that, and never answer "Sorry to inconvenience you". They requested YOU to call them.

There is many introverted folks out there, although just like the remaining of us, they need to go to jobs and shell out for expenses.

If you appear excellent, grin and say hello, you'll be clearly on your way in the XIMO networking industry

Ximo Ingredients: ECGC Green Tea Extract

Ximo Health's Golden Energy formula contains ECGC, so I thought you might enjoy reading an article about this great ingredient.

Green Tea May Positively Effect Stomach Cancer

Author: Marcus Stout

Stomach Cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the Western World. In fact, the American Cancer Society estimates that22,228 Americans will be diagnosed with stomach cancer during 2006. They also project that there will be an estimated 11,430 deaths from this type of disease. Therefore, the search for a cure for this disease has been a long standing one.

In the past, clinical researchers have hypothesized that drinking green tea may indeed inhibit stomach carcinogenesis, and a few case-studies with animals and human beings have successfully broadened this theory.

One landmark case study was conducted on humans in Shanghai, China from October 1991 to December 1993. This study is still considered to be the largest of its kind. During this study, 711 subjects and 711 controls (under the age of 80) were evaluated.

hey were all residents of the Hongkou district and Nanhui country and were selected from identical streets or communes and matched in gender and age (within three years). This created two nearly identical, homogeneous groups. By creating these groups, researchers ensured that their findings would not be impacted by any outside contributing factors.

During this study, researchers evaluated the types of tea used, strength and temperature of the tea consumed, age when habitual tea drinking began, total duration of drinking for each batch, frequency of new batches of tea leaves used per day, and number of cups brewed from each batch. Statistical analysis was then completed with conditional logistic regression.

Researchers found that habitual Chinese green tea drinkers (regardless of when they started drinking the tea) had a lower risk of stomach cancer than their non tea drinking counterparts.

They reasoned that the green tea may disrupt gastric carcinogenesis at both the intermediate and the late stages and that the major polyphenol in green tea extracts, also known as epigallocatechin gallate (ECGC), positively effects stomach cancer and also protects a number of organs in the digestive tract.

In 2004, a research team from Harvard Medical School worked on and expanded the premise of the Shanghai study. They reported that the epigallocatechin gallate (ECGC) in Green Tea impairs the growth and reproduction of cancer cells (SEG-1 and BIC-1) involved with Barrett's Esophagus.

Barrett's Esophagus is a condition in which the stomach throws back stomach acid due to impaired function and often leads to the destruction of the cells that line the esophagus which in turn, increases the risk of esophageal cancer.

Barrett's Esophagus is a very serious condition often mistaken by sufferers as heartburn. This condition is frequently a precursor to esophageal cancer. Although one of the rarer forms of cancer, esophageal cancer is also one of the more deadly forms of cancer, with a five year survival rate of only 25 percent.

Harvard Medical School researchers found that exposure to ECGC (which is found in green tea) releases proteins which are known to help in repairing DNA damage. This finding has created even more interest in researching the effects of green tea and EGCC on cancer.

In other words, drinking Chinese Green Tea may be a healthy habit to acquire - one, that may prevent and lead to a positive effect on stomach cancer and those suffering from Barrett's Esophagus.

Ximo Ingredients: White Willow Bark

I decided to include this article on White Willow Bark because Ximo Health's owner Erik Laver recently announced the new Golden Energy formula will contain the ingredient.

What is White Willow Bark?

Author: Chris Randon

What is white willow bark?

Other Names: Salix alba, white willow, willow bark

White willow bark is a tree native to Europe and Asia. The name "white willow" comes from the color of the leaves, which are covered with fine white hairs.

The use of white willow bark medicinally goes far back. Ancient Egyptians used white willow for inflammation. The Greek physician Hippocrates wrote about white willow's medicinal uses in 5th century B.C.

In 1829, scientists in Europe identified what was believed to be the active ingredient in white willow bark—a compound called salicin. Public demand grew rapidly.

Extracting salicin from herbs was considered to be expensive and time-consuming, so a synthetic salicylic acid version was developed in Germany in 1852 and quickly became the treatment of choice (salicin is converted in the body to salicylic acid).

The problem was that it was harder on the stomach. At therapeutic doses, people using the synthetic salicyclic acid developed stomach ulcers and bleeding.

The German company Bayer eventually created a synthetic, less harsh derivative of salicylic acid, called acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), and mass-produced it under the name aspirin. Despite this, aspirin is still known for irritating the stomach lining.

Why do people use white willow bark?

White willow bark is used for conditions that cause pain, inflammation, or fever, such as:

  • Acute back pain

  • Fever

  • Flu

  • Joint pain

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Pain

People take white willow bark instead of aspirin because it does not appear to be as irritating to the stomach lining. It may be because the salicin found naturally in white willow bark is only converted to the acid form after it is absorbed by the stomach.

Researchers have also suggested that white willow bark is more effective than aspirin because of other active compounds that are found in the bark but not the drug. Animal research at Cairo University compared a willow bark extract to ASA and found that a willow bark extract was as effective as aspirin in reducing inflammation, even though the salicin content was lower than an equivalent dose of ASA.

What research has been done on white willow bark?

  • In a German study, the effectiveness of a willow bark extract providing 240 mg of salicin a day was compared to placebo in a 2-week randomized controlled trial in 78 people with osteoarthritis. After two weeks, the willow bark patients' pain scores were reduced by 14% compared to the placebo group, which had a 2% increase in pain scores.

  • A randomized controlled trial published in the American Journal of Medicine examined the use of 120 mg or 240 mg salicin or placebo in 210 patients with an low back pain. In the fourth and final week of the study, 39% of the group taking 240 mg salicin were pain-free for at least 5 days, compared to 21% in the 120 mg group and only 6% in the placebo group.

  • Two randomized controlled 6-week trials investigated the effectiveness and safety of willow bark in 127 patients with hip and/or knee osteoarthritis and 26 patients with rheumatoid arthritis. In the osteoarthritis trial, patients received either willow bark providing 240 mg of salicin a day, 100 mg a day of the drug diclofenac, or a placebo. Patients in the rheumatoid arthritis trial received either willow bark or a placebo. The results found that the drug diclofenac was more effective than placebo in osteoarthritis patients but white willow bark was not. In rheumatoid arthritis patients, willow bark wasn't found to be more effective than placebo.

Common Doses

Studies have used white willow bark extracts that provide 120 mg to 240 mg of salicin per day.

Safety

Because white willow bark contains salicylates, the same precautions as aspirin should be taken until research has shown otherwise. The following people should not take white willow bark:

  • People with an aspirin allergy or sensitivity. There has been a published report of a 25 year old woman who was admitted to emergency with anaphylaxis after taking 2 capsules of a weight loss supplement that contained willow bark. The patient had a history of allergy to acetylsalicylic acid. No other possible causes for anaphylaxis were identified in that patient.

  • People with peptic ulcer disease or kidney disease.

  • The herbs ginkgo, vitamin E, and garlic may increase the risk of bleeding if combined with white willow.

  • People with hyperuricemia, gout, and asthma.

  • Children and teenagers, especially with flu-like symptoms, chicken pox, or Reye's syndrome.

  • Pregnant or nursing women.

White willow bark should be avoided two weeks before or after surgery.

Side effects

There have been few reported side effects. However, the same side effects as aspirin may theoretically occur, especially at higher doses: ringing in the ears, ulcers, stomach burning, pain, cramping, nausea, gastrointestinal bleeding and liver toxicity, rash, dizziness, and kidney impairment.

Ximo Health: The greatest company you've NEVER heard of ... Yet

In April of 2010, I found a small package on my doorstep. Inside, I found a bright orange and yellow bottle of a product that a friend of mine had stumbled upon. I read his instructions and took 2 oz. of the golden drink and was hooked from that moment on.

Throughout the last 9 months, I have built this little-known company because I had never experienced a product so amazing - I knew eventually it would catch on. Well, that time has come.

In November of 2010, this little company was purchased outright by one of the best network marketing professionals in the country. It is owned by Erik Laver - the co-founder and former President of Send Out Cards. As a distributor in E'ola International, Erik was their top earner - bringing in more than a million dollars in commissions. As a corporate owner, he took Send Out Cards from an idea to what was a $141 million dollar annual network marketing business in 2009. Both his ventures grew to $50 million in their first 5 years.

Anyone who has seen Send Out Cards' growth can attest that it is visionary people like Erik who made it happen. Erik left Send Out Cards on great terms in order to own his own company outright and still has a great reputation among that company's distributors.

So, back to the little golden liquid. Erik tried Ximo and knew it was a winner. It's a fast-acting product that users feel in minutes, but the former owner didn't have the industry know-how that he did. It had at one time amassed 15,000 distributors, but the original owner's poor-customer service had driven most of them away.

Erik saw that the marketing and target customer base needed to be tweaked. The product's packaging needed to be made more convenient.

Since November 1st, the new owner, Laver, has been pouring investment into the company. From hiring a dedicated customer service staff and relocating the company to redesigning product packaging, jazzing up the compensation package and planning for the future.

What you will have around the end of the first quarter of 2010, is a relaunched company with a product that flat out delivers like no other. It will be convenient with single-serving "on the go" packaging. It will be priced for today's economy and actually competitive with what you would pay at a store. It has a 65% payout compensation plan and dollar for dollar commissions, but most importantly it has experienced leadership that knows how to grow a company.

There may be a few out there who recognize the importance of working early on opportunities of vision. Right now, Ximo is still a work in progress, but you won't want to be too late on this one. To reward those early few, willing to be on the cutting edge of the next big one - Ximo is offering no-sign up fees until Dec. 31st.

Before reading this, I can almost guarantee you hadn't heard about Ximo Health. If my prediction is correct, it will only be a matter of months until you won't stop hearing about it. In these early stages, interested networkers may have the opportunity to speak directly to the owner himself. PM me if you'd like to try and schedule a personal call.

Ximo Ingredients: Quercetin

Please enjoy this article I found about the benefits of Quercetin - one of the ingredients found in Ximo Health Golden Energy Shots

The Health Benefits of Quercetin Supplementation

Author: Paul Guenther

Quercetin belongs to a group of flavonoids that give many fruits and vegetables their color. Flavonoids such as quercetin are antioxidants. Antioxidant supplements essentially attack damaging particles found in the body - particles known as free radicals. Free radicals can tamper with, damage cell membranes, and even cause cells to die off. Quercetin can help to neutralize free radicals and may reduce much of the damage that they cause.

When taken as a health supplement, quercetin acts as an antihistamine and anti-inflammatory compound. These properties have been said to make quercetin a viable option in the fight against heart disease and cancer. A quercetin complex can prevent cells from releasing histamines, and thus, researchers agree that it can be very beneficial in preventing allergies, runny noses, watery eyes, swelling, and hives.

Flavonoids quercetin, resveratrol, and catechins may also help in the fight against heart disease. Quercetin seems to be able to protect against the damage caused by bad cholesterols, and can even prevent death in some cases. It is also interesting to note that people who eat diets high in these flavanoids tend to have lower cholesterol, and less damage to LDL cholesterol in general.

Finally, activated quercetin has also been thought of as a supplement that can prevent cancer. Individuals who eat lots of fruits and vegetables tend to be at lower risk for many types of cancer. Quercetin and other flavonoids have been shown in these studies to inhibit the growth of cancer cells; from breast cancer, to prostate and lung cancer cells.

While quercetin has many potential benefits when taken as a health supplement, it should be understood that more study is needed to show the true interaction between quercetin supplementation and human reaction. What works in the lab, and what has been beneficial to animals, does not always convey effectiveness for humans. More research is necessary before most of these claims can be validated. It is fairly clear, however, that quercetin benefits out weight the negatives (and quercetin side effects are fairly minimal). Always ask your doctor before starting any kind of quercetin supplement regimen.

Typical dosages of quercetin range from 100-1,000mg daily. One should never consume more than 1g on a daily basis without first consulting a physician. For general supplementation, the dosage is typically between 100 and 250mg, twice daily. When taking for interstitial cystitis or chronic prostatitis, 500mg two times daily is recommended. If you are using quercetin for allergies, the best dose is somewhere between 250-600mg, taken as needed. Take your size into account, and use common sense, as always.
