Ximo Health: The greatest company you've NEVER heard of ... Yet

In April of 2010, I found a small package on my doorstep. Inside, I found a bright orange and yellow bottle of a product that a friend of mine had stumbled upon. I read his instructions and took 2 oz. of the golden drink and was hooked from that moment on.

Throughout the last 9 months, I have built this little-known company because I had never experienced a product so amazing - I knew eventually it would catch on. Well, that time has come.

In November of 2010, this little company was purchased outright by one of the best network marketing professionals in the country. It is owned by Erik Laver - the co-founder and former President of Send Out Cards. As a distributor in E'ola International, Erik was their top earner - bringing in more than a million dollars in commissions. As a corporate owner, he took Send Out Cards from an idea to what was a $141 million dollar annual network marketing business in 2009. Both his ventures grew to $50 million in their first 5 years.

Anyone who has seen Send Out Cards' growth can attest that it is visionary people like Erik who made it happen. Erik left Send Out Cards on great terms in order to own his own company outright and still has a great reputation among that company's distributors.

So, back to the little golden liquid. Erik tried Ximo and knew it was a winner. It's a fast-acting product that users feel in minutes, but the former owner didn't have the industry know-how that he did. It had at one time amassed 15,000 distributors, but the original owner's poor-customer service had driven most of them away.

Erik saw that the marketing and target customer base needed to be tweaked. The product's packaging needed to be made more convenient.

Since November 1st, the new owner, Laver, has been pouring investment into the company. From hiring a dedicated customer service staff and relocating the company to redesigning product packaging, jazzing up the compensation package and planning for the future.

What you will have around the end of the first quarter of 2010, is a relaunched company with a product that flat out delivers like no other. It will be convenient with single-serving "on the go" packaging. It will be priced for today's economy and actually competitive with what you would pay at a store. It has a 65% payout compensation plan and dollar for dollar commissions, but most importantly it has experienced leadership that knows how to grow a company.

There may be a few out there who recognize the importance of working early on opportunities of vision. Right now, Ximo is still a work in progress, but you won't want to be too late on this one. To reward those early few, willing to be on the cutting edge of the next big one - Ximo is offering no-sign up fees until Dec. 31st.

Before reading this, I can almost guarantee you hadn't heard about Ximo Health. If my prediction is correct, it will only be a matter of months until you won't stop hearing about it. In these early stages, interested networkers may have the opportunity to speak directly to the owner himself. PM me if you'd like to try and schedule a personal call.

Ximo Golden Ephedra Testimonials

The following are real testimonials from real people that I've gathered about Ximo Health's flagship product by the same name...

From Dr. Dave Sessions:

Hi Dave,
So, I am really liking this stuff so far. I have lost 3 pounds in 3 days of being on the product. This comes after being on weight watchers and running 3 miles about 4 days a week and being stuck in my weight loss. It has been the one thing that has helped get me over my plateau.

Also, as you know, Katie plays volleyball for Westminster so I gave her a bottle and told her to try it at her next practice. That was today. She called me immediately after practice wanting to let me know that people were saying that she was jumping higher and was more energetic than they have ever seen her. She didn't say what it was because she thinks it was in her head but she said she did feel like she was performing better. She is getting ready to leave for conference on Wed and is excited to take the bottle with her and see if it will help them win. She said she will be handing out samples if she keeps getting these results.

Anyway, just thought I would share.

Have a great day.
Lisa

Ximo Health MLM Compensation Plan Attracts Top Marketers

Retailing to Residual Income in MLM

By Rob Wynkoop

The Ximo Golden Ephedra drink is a highly retailable product. Because of this, it enables individuals a great opportunity to fund their business as they go. Using this simple game plan, a new distributor can build a strong residual income in a few years of hard work and dedication.

Step 1 – Sign-up yourself and order a minimum product shipment. Put yourself on autoship for at least $120 worth of product. The more product you have (within reason) the more likely you'll share it and sell it.

Step 2 – Order a shipment capable of retailing to the public at a local market or bazaar. For your first time, I suggest you investigate which venue in your area has the MOST traffic. Find out what it will cost to set up there. Then decide what you will price your product at. Take your profit estimations ($2,3, or $4 per bottle) and determine how many bottles you would need to sell to BREAK EVEN. If it takes you 30 bottles to break even, then I suggest you order a 48 pk. That leaves you with a portion to sample out for free and enough bottles to sell for a profit to break even with.
As you gain experience, you can begin to add more product and start looking to increase profit, but this method will allow you to get your product in the hands of others without risking having a lot of unsold product left over.
Step 3 – Order free business cards online. This will take about 3 weeks to arrive, but you get 250 cards for about $4 total. Vistaprint is a good choice. On your cards state that you are the local Ximo distributor, put your name, phone number and Ximo website address.

Step 3 – Set up at a flea market or swap meet and sell for a weekend. Since you’ve got your Ximo liquid shipment, you should sample it out.

Sampling Ximo - Using 3 oz Dixie Cups, pour customers a full serving of the liquid and have them sample it. Make sure you “manage” the experience – as they begin to taste the product explain to them that in about 10 minutes they will begin to feel a rush of energy. This will be sustained energy with no crash because the product contains no sugar. Explain to them the product will work for them if they start to feel a warm feeling over their body, a heightened sense of alertness. Also if they feel more thirsty or get an urge to urinate more frequently they will know their body reacts well to Ephedra. Before they leave your booth or table, ask them “Would you like to take a bottle or two home with you today? You can try it for a week for $X amount of dollars.” Then you sell them 2 bottles. If they say they would like to wait and see how it affects them, then hand them your business card and say “once you feel the effects, come back and pick up a bottle before you leave. Take my card in case you forget – you can order some directly from my website listed on this card.”

If you sample the product – everyone gets a business card. If they purchase the product you explain to them that they can reorder the product direct from your website and that they can also get a discount by the case online.
Obviously giving away full serving samples is not free for you, but if you’re a decent sales person you should be able to recoup your free samples from your profits and come away with a few extra dollars for yourself. Don’t expect to turn a huge profit immediately. Your goal is residual wealth in MLM, so you must think long term. Another great idea is to have a them leave their contact information in exchange for a free drawing or have a “mailing-list” set up for people to write down their info. Data is crucial in this business and free data is worth its weight in gold.

Any time a prospective customer can sample your product in a full serving and feel the ephedra effect, you have the potential to create a long-term, loyal customer. Gaining lots of long-term, loyal customers are how you build your residual wealth.
Your flea market is over. Hopefully you’ve introduced Ximo to many new customers and potential customers. Expect 1-2 people to reorder a case of the product when their “trial” purchases of 1-2 bottles are gone. Rinse and repeat. In my area, the “Big Flea Market” only happens once a month, so do this every month or as often as you can. If every month you do this and gain 2-3 customers while breaking even or profiting a bit, your business begins snowballing.

Step 4 – Open a free checking account and put your profits and recouped capital from your flea market sales in the bank. This is important. You’re starting a real business and you need to keep this money separate from your personal bank account. This will also be helpful for your tax purposes next year.

Step 5 – Order some more products if you’re out. And always keep a few bottles handy. As you go throughout your day, sample the product to as many people as you can. Hand out those business cards and be on the lookout for other low-cost opportunities to set up and sample your product to others.

You should include your business card and design an advertisement or brochure that tells people about the product, shows them where to go to reorder it and also mention that opportunities are available to earn the product for free. You can call it an affiliate program, referral program or business opportunity. Make it your own, but provide the opportunity for them to arrive at your website. If you’re going to promote the business opportunity alongside your samples, I highly suggest you create a capture page to get your customers contact information.

Doing these 5 steps will help you retail your way to a residual income with Ximo. Once you’ve mastered this approach, you can begin to incorporate new strategies to build your business. As you go throughout the process of building wealth in network marketing, I encourage you to use the snowball method. A snowball gets bigger as it rolls along and picks up more snow along the way. It takes time and gradually increases to be bigger and bigger. If you’ve been using the above methods for a few months and have been depositing your capital and profits into your dedicated bank account then you might take a small portion of the profit and try something new.

For example, you might take a portion and take out some form of advertisement. If you run an ad and drum up enough new customers to cover the cost for it, re-run it. Each time, take the monthly profits of your new enrollments and add them to the advertising budget. When you can afford to move to a larger, more visible ad give it a try. Rinse and repeat, but continue to reinvest your profits into your business either by purchasing more product to sample out of by purchasing advertising in some fashion. The key is to keep business money in the business account flowing through your system for finding prospects and turning them into either customers or distributors.

As you use these methods, you will see your team grow person by person, month by month. Don’t get to ahead of yourself, but focus on the end goal of a monthly residual income. Share this plan with all new distributors and help them duplicate the “retail to residual” plan.

Ximo snatched up by MLM veteran

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Multi-level marketing expert and Send Out Cards Co-founder Erik Laver purchased start-up health supplement company Ximo Health, LLC., Monday.

Ximo is currently the only company on the market today that offers a FDA compliant formulation of ephedra – the hit weight loss and energy product of the 1990s.

Prior to acquiring Ximo, Laver co-founded and served as President of the MLM greeting card company SendOutCards. During 2003, SendOutCards produced just over $100,000 in revenue, and by 2009 produced over $41 million dollars annually, consisted of 50,000 distributors, and had 100,000 active customers. In 2009 Erik Laver was a finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. His company was also featured in Inc. Magazine as #158 in both the top 500 Fastest Growing Companies and the Best of the Websites.

Erik Laver is no stranger to the key ingredient of Ximo. He started his network marketing career in 1992 with a nutritional company called E'OLA International whose flagship product contained ephedra. Laver became their highest income earner, forming a downline organization that consisted of more than a half a million distributors and $50 million in sales annually. During this time, he also authored a hardcover book, The Missing Piece to the Weight Loss Puzzle, which highlights the benefits of ephedra supplements to increased energy and weight loss.

Laver said he has already begun revamping Ximo’s website as well as improving the product packaging. He hopes to have Ximo available in single serving energy “shots” by the end of the year. His two prior MLM companies reached $50 million in sales within 5 years and Laver believes that he will do the same with Ximo.

About Ximo: The proprietary blend of ingredients in the beverage includes the key combination of epigallocatechingallate extracts (EGCG), and xanthines clinically proven to increase the body's natural calorie burn, which generates heat in a process called thermogenesis, enabling consumers to lose unwanted fat.

Additionally, Ximo provides an array of anti-oxidants in a variety of lignans and epigallaocatechingallate extracts as well as nearly the daily-recommended amount of niacin. Ximo also provides trimethylglycine, which helps reduce levels of homocysteine, which is believed to contribute to the onset of arthrosclerosis, osteoporosis, cardiovascular thrombosis, skeletal abnormalities, and ocular deformities. In all, Ximo provides a spectrum of anti-oxidants to support the immune system while promoting weight loss and increased energy.

Terrific Ximo Videos

As some of you may have seen, my legal counsel urged me to cancel the viral video competition. I think it is a great concept and though only a few people had put together entries, they felt that I was in a position to be sued because of it. I hope to work on the official rules with them so that I can offer this in the future. All current entries will count to the future contest. I apologize for the confusion regarding this.

However, I did want to showcase some of the creativity of the entries thus far:

This one is awesome:

Another really great entry:

A little bizarre, but interesting submission:

Ximo Ingredients: Quercetin

Please enjoy this article I found about the benefits of Quercetin - one of the ingredients found in Ximo Health Golden Energy Shots

The Health Benefits of Quercetin Supplementation

Author: Paul Guenther

Quercetin belongs to a group of flavonoids that give many fruits and vegetables their color. Flavonoids such as quercetin are antioxidants. Antioxidant supplements essentially attack damaging particles found in the body - particles known as free radicals. Free radicals can tamper with, damage cell membranes, and even cause cells to die off. Quercetin can help to neutralize free radicals and may reduce much of the damage that they cause.

When taken as a health supplement, quercetin acts as an antihistamine and anti-inflammatory compound. These properties have been said to make quercetin a viable option in the fight against heart disease and cancer. A quercetin complex can prevent cells from releasing histamines, and thus, researchers agree that it can be very beneficial in preventing allergies, runny noses, watery eyes, swelling, and hives.

Flavonoids quercetin, resveratrol, and catechins may also help in the fight against heart disease. Quercetin seems to be able to protect against the damage caused by bad cholesterols, and can even prevent death in some cases. It is also interesting to note that people who eat diets high in these flavanoids tend to have lower cholesterol, and less damage to LDL cholesterol in general.

Finally, activated quercetin has also been thought of as a supplement that can prevent cancer. Individuals who eat lots of fruits and vegetables tend to be at lower risk for many types of cancer. Quercetin and other flavonoids have been shown in these studies to inhibit the growth of cancer cells; from breast cancer, to prostate and lung cancer cells.

While quercetin has many potential benefits when taken as a health supplement, it should be understood that more study is needed to show the true interaction between quercetin supplementation and human reaction. What works in the lab, and what has been beneficial to animals, does not always convey effectiveness for humans. More research is necessary before most of these claims can be validated. It is fairly clear, however, that quercetin benefits out weight the negatives (and quercetin side effects are fairly minimal). Always ask your doctor before starting any kind of quercetin supplement regimen.

Typical dosages of quercetin range from 100-1,000mg daily. One should never consume more than 1g on a daily basis without first consulting a physician. For general supplementation, the dosage is typically between 100 and 250mg, twice daily. When taking for interstitial cystitis or chronic prostatitis, 500mg two times daily is recommended. If you are using quercetin for allergies, the best dose is somewhere between 250-600mg, taken as needed. Take your size into account, and use common sense, as always.

When Energy Drinks are Needed

Author: alena jones

Energy drinks are simply soft drinks which are marketed to be as those drinks boosting up the energy when compared to other ordinary drinks. The usual calorie count or the quantitative energy is estimated to be much lesser than those found in normal soft drinks. The major ingredients present in these energy drinks are a blend of Vitamin B complex, herbal constituents and methylxanthines including caffeine.

A variety of physiological and psychological effects attributed to energy drinks and/or their ingredients have not been investigated. However two studies reported significant improvements in mental and cognitive performances as well as subjective alertness. Reports and research show that many people are inclined to take a high energy drink first thing in the morning, even before their breakfast. Sadly, because the side effects are not always immediately noticeable, many think they can get away with this or just simply believe that there are no side effects.

The main two ingredients of energy drinks are caffeine and taurine. These are the key elements that are supposed to "energize" our brain and body according to the plan of energy drinks creators. But practice shows different. The French scientists studied the composition and effects of energy drinks and came to the conclusion that the main ingredients of tonics do not go together and cause ambiguous body reactions. Energy drinks are soft drinks advertised as providing energy to improve physical activity of the drinker, as compared to a typical drink. They are typically attractive to young people. Energy drinks are not necessarily bad for you, but they shouldn't be seen as "natural alternatives" either.

There are now energy drinks on the market that contain Quercetin. Quercetin is a phytochemical that is part of the coloring found in the skins of apples, red onions, red grapes and berries. Quercetin is a powerful antioxidant. It is also a natural anti-histamine, and anti-inflammatory. It is actually possible that it may help relieve allergy symptoms. There is now a drink that actually provides you the equivalent of eating 27 medium sized apples in one 8.4 oz can, it's called Efusjon Dawn.

Now it seems there is a specific type for everyone. Although the growth of the energy drink market has slowed since the original explosion a few years back, it has yet to stop. It seems the market has been established and these drinks are here to stay. Glucuronolactone is a naturally occurring carbohydrate produced by the human metabolic system. It is believed to improve memory and concentration. It can have stimulant and anti-depressant effects.Inositol is instrumental in how the brain uses serotonin, a chemical that is the same that is boosted by the anti-depressant drugs prozac and zoloft.

Energy drinks are non-alcoholic, often lightly carbonated beverages that are designed to give the consumer a burst of energy by the addition of a number of energy enhancing ingredients, most notably caffeine. They are everywhere nowadays, tempting us from the refrigerated section with their mega portions of caffeine and natural energy boosters. Energy drinks also contain citric acid which is harmful to the teeth. The unpredictability of the use of energy drinks lies in the fact that they produce different reactions in different people. Energy drinks have stimulating properties that can boost the heart rate and blood pressure. Taken in excess, energy drinks can dehydrate the body and, like other stimulants, they also prevent sleep. But that's not all. As was found, "Red Bull" - the most popular and fashionable Energy drink can be deadly to humans. The production and sale of the drink is already banned in Australia and New Zealand. In France, Denmark and Norway energy drinks are prohibited for sale in food stores and are allowed to be sold only in pharmacies because they are considered as no other than medicine.

Some energy drinks out there also contain several beneficial ingredients, such as: B-vitamins, amino acids, and anti-oxidants. Often times, these types of energy drinks are also marketed as health drinks. These health drinks often contain beneficial nutrients, zero sugars, and the right amount of caffeine for a daily boost of energy.

MLM Prelaunch 4 Things to Know Before Participating

Author: Chris Kosman

Every MLM website or forum you visit today you can not notice it. Someone somewhere we'll be mentioning a new company launch. Prelaunch here prelaunch there and pretty soon you start feeling that you are in Cape Canaveral. But besides the fun part and the hype that you notice daily, there are some good exceptions of companies that are destined to a bright future which can turn very profitable for the distributors with the good sense to join at this point.

Of course chances are that the majority of the start-up companies will fail. So the real question comes down to what is that which distinguishes a future success from a certain failure?

To some that is the one million dollar question, while others can cut on the money they spend to the fortunetellers.

Though I don't profess to be a prognosticator, there are a few simple things that you can check out on a new company that if cannot pick a winner, surely can reveal a loser.

First of all, the most important thing you need to check is the owners and its management team. Learn their names and find out if they have any previous experience in the multilevel marketing industry or in any business at all. The more experience they have and the closer to our industry that is, the better. Also don't forget to check out if there is anything negative at their past. If they lack integrity or you can't trust them needless to say that you should stay away. It's Incredible what you can find about almost anyone if you Google his name these days.

Second, check the compensation plan. It's an important factor to the stability of the business and it's future expansion. If it rewards too much the “big guns” compared to the average distributor, its expansion can pretty soon come to an halt and so it's profitability. Make it the other way and there is no incentive for real progress, so it may never really take off in numbers and in profits, of course.

Third, although the product is not that important, what matters is the segment of the market that is targeting. Is this a market where demand exists? What is the competition? If there is no competition, why? If it's fierce how the company is going to differentiate and brand the product so it would stand out from competition?

Fourth, is there a training program? Without one, new distributors, would really have a problem start making sales and in this case much of the training responsibility, if not all, would fall into your shoulders for those you sponsor. Which of course can cost you in more time that can cut off the expansion speed of your organization.

Is Caffeine Necessary For Supplements?

Is Caffeine Necessary For Weight Loss Supplements?

Author: Chrisstan

With the explosion on the market of 4 hour+ energy shots that contain zero caffeine, I question the value of synthetic caffeine in weight loss products and energy pills in general. One major problem is that there are so many sources of caffeine in the diet, including coffee, chocolate, soda pop (diet and regular) and now just about every dietary supplement. Most pre-workout NO products contain some form of caffeine. Many unscrupulous supplement companies are disguising caffeine as "Methyl Xanthines" or simple "Xanthines" as a way to disguise the use of caffeine in their supplement. Things like "Chocamine" ™ and Chocolate extract are primarily made up of caffeine and its derivatives. Finally, herbal extracts like Guarana and certain tea extracts like Mate are used to disguise the caffeine content of dietary supplements. Picture this, you wake up in the morning and have large coffee at your favorite Starbucks. The Venti has 480mg of caffeine on average and that is NOT using the expresso beans! So, 480mg to start your day is a whopping dose of caffeine. Then let's say you have a diet soda at 10am and then another 20oz at lunch. That indulgence adds an extra 72mg per serving, so tack on another 144mg to your tally. You decide to hit the gym before your workout and take the typical EXPLODE product with caffeine. These pre-workout supplements have roughly 300mg per serving and often recommend that you take a double serving before working out, so add on another 600mg. Just an average day in the life of a bodybuilder is looking like over a GRAM of caffeine without even thinking about it (1,224mg to be exact). Now, if you add your caffeine based theromogenic on top of it, you could be ingesting another 600-800mg per day (most "stimulant" based thermogenics contain about 200mg of caffeine per serving in one of the forms mentioned above). For your custom workout and diet plans please contact info@best-fatburner.net to get your custom plan started today.

So, the average bodybuilder is consuming 2000mg of caffeine per day! The recommended level that the Mayo Clinic recommends is two 12oz cans of diet soda per day max or about 90mg. Every day, millions of people take caffeine in one form or another. It can stay in the body for about 10 hours, if you have a fully functioning liver. If you drink alcohol or take steroids or 17aMethyl Pro-steroids, it will stick around even longer. That means the Starbucks™ you had for breakfast is still around at 6pm and if you take something with Guarana, it will hang around even longer. That means the Starbucks™ you had for breakfast is still around at 6pm and if you take something with Guarana, it will hang around even longer.

So, what? What is the big deal? Isn't caffeine the most harmless thing that a bodybuilder can take? Caffeine doesn't have side effects and it can give you a boost when you are down…right? I need that stimulant to get "going"!
Is caffeine even good in supplements and excercise?

Effects of eight weeks of caffeine supplementation and endurance training on aerobic fitness and body composition. Malek MH, Housh TJ, Coburn JW, Beck TW, Schmidt RJ, Housh DJ, Johnson GO. University of Nebraska-Lincoln

"These findings indicated that chronic use of the caffeine-containing supplement in the present study, in conjunction with aerobic training, provided no ergogenic effects as measured by VO(2)peak and TRE, and the supplement was of no benefit for altering body weight or body composition."

So, it is more than possible that caffeine does not add to the ergogenic effect in trained athletes and doesn't help athletes lose weight. How about this study showing the negative effects on creatine supplementation?

Caffeine counteracts the ergogenic action of muscle creatine loading.Vandenberghe K, Gillis N, Van Leemputte M, Van Hecke P, Vanstapel F, Hespel P.

This study shows the caffeine reversed the benefit of creatine and muscle strength. Creatine showed an increase in muscle torque of 10-23% in the subjects studied. According to the conclusion:

"The data show that Creatine supplementation elevates muscle PhosphoCreatine concentration and markedly improves performance during intense intermittent exercise. This ergogenic effect, however, is completely eliminated by caffeine intake."

So, here we have clear evidence that caffeine eliminates some of the key benefits of creatine supplementation, so why is it in your NO or Creatine product?

Let's talk about another big problem with the over use of caffeine…type II diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Why would this matter to the bodybuilder? One big reason! Insulin is the second most important nutrient to the bodybuilder for building muscle and anything that blunts its effect isn't really a good thing. www.best-fatburner.net has all your fat burner and supplement needs all at discount prices.

Caffeine has been proven in many scientific studies to increase the risk of metabolic syndrome and type II diabetes by blunting the effect of insulin in the bloodstream. In fact caffeine can be implicated in making diabetics fat! Reduced insulin sensitivity causes the body to release more insulin (hyper-insulinemia) which reduces the uptake of nutrients in the muscle cells (stay away from caffeine with your workouts) and potentiates the storage of energy as fat!

So, in effect this caffeine over consumption might do WAY more harm than good and increase your chances of becoming obese, reducing your muscles ability to recover and taxing your adrenal system. There are reams of documents on pubmed that show how destructive caffeine is to your ability to metabolize sugar and the reduced effect of insulin in a hyper caffeinated environment.

Professional bodybuilders take EXTRA insulin to increase their recovery and size, it is one of the most important nutrient systems that they can use to increase size and recovery. It is second only to anabolic steroids in making the professional bodybuilder ultra big. Why would anyone that wants a better physique take something that blunts the most anabolic hormone in the body next to testosterone? Why take 2,000mg of something that is PROVEN to reduce your recovery and ability to store nutrients? It is insanity, especially when you consider that caffeine has a very dubious effect on its ability to increase weight loss, with very little data showing it to be an effective weight loss aid. Actually, it seems that caffeine barely has a thermogenic effect and there are FAR better ways of getting a mental lift in the gym (although caffeine is very cheap, running about $8 per kilogram, which is why so many companies put it in their supplements to contrast, Yohimbine is about $1500 per kilogram).

Type II Insulin resistance caused by caffeine WILL HAMPER YOUR ABILITY TO GAIN MUSCLE! Period! It is proven in multiple studies: "The present study in mice demonstrates that both models of diabetes impair regenerating muscles as well as uninjured muscles. Regenerating fast muscles are weaker, lighter and slower in diabetic compared with nondiabetic mice."(-Vignaud, A) Meaning, muscles regenerate more slowly in a insulin resistant environment! How about this study: "In conclusion, individuals with impaired glucose homeostasis have reduced skeletal muscle nNOSmicro protein content."(–Bradley, SJ)

Insulin resistance is implicated in reduced mitochondria function in the muscle "In conclusion, the current data supports that muscle mitochondrial dysfunction in type 2 diabetes is not an intrinsic defect, but instead a functional defect related to impaired response to insulin." (Asmann, YW) So, those energy drinks count on the Taurine and Sugar for their performance enhancing effect, not the caffeine. That is if you can trust the Mayo Clinic about reduced mitochondrial activity in response to insulin resistance.

According to Duke University, caffeine can also substantially raise your blood pressure, which is implicated in a whole host of diseases and complications. Additionally, high blood pressure has been linked to the worsening of metabolic syndrome, which is the body's resistance to normal insulin function as described above. It seems that caffeine WORSENS the effect of raising blood pressure which causes damage and further reduces gains. What else is high blood pressure implicated in? According to the Mayo Clinic web site:

"Excessive pressure on the artery walls can damage your vital organs. The higher your blood pressure and the longer it goes uncontrolled, the greater the damage.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to:

Damage to your arteries. This can result in hardening and thickening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), which can lead to a heart attack or other complications. An enlarged, bulging blood vessel (aneurysm) also is possible.

Heart failure. To pump blood against the higher pressure in your vessels, your heart muscle thickens. Eventually, the thickened muscle may have a hard time pumping enough blood to meet your body's needs, which can lead to heart failure.

A blocked or ruptured blood vessel in your brain. This can lead to stroke. Weakened and narrowed blood vessels in your kidneys. This can prevent these organs from functioning normally.

Thickened, narrowed or torn blood vessels in the eyes. This can result in vision loss. Metabolic syndrome. This syndrome is a cluster of disorders of your body's metabolism — including elevated waist circumference, high triglycerides, low high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol, high blood pressure and high insulin levels. If you have high blood pressure, you're more likely to have other components of metabolic syndrome. The more components you have, the greater your risk of developing diabetes, heart disease or stroke.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure also may affect your ability to think, remember and learn. Cognitive impairment and dementia are more common in people who have high blood pressure."

The average bodybuilder doesn't need higher blood pressure. In fact heavy lifting has been shown to increase blood pressure up to a whopping 250/180 (the average healthy blood pressure is under 120/80), so an unnecessary boost in blood pressure from caffeine. Supplements can certainly use other forms of stimulation to boost the metabolic effect or increase focus and intensity.

Yohimbine for example has been shown by Pantox Laboratories in California, to not raise blood pressure at moderate doses and makes an excellent replacement for caffeine in pre-workout nitric oxide drinks and powders to give the focus boosting effect. It also has a very good thermogenic effect without worsening insulin sensitivity.

Also, many stimulant manufacturers are using things other than caffeine to provide a boost in energy or even offsetting the dangers of caffeine with natural blood pressure reducing agents like Hawthorn Berry (*Search Hawthorn Berry Stimulants for a list) and natural insulin potentiators like Momordica (*search mormodica stimulants for a list) with their thermogenics.

These items are useful in eliminating the negative effects of caffeine with all of the positive benefits. They are included in many supplements the do not include caffeine. The problem is that most supplements are either stimulants with caffeine or are simply less effective non-stimulant versions, which do not provide the focus and thermogenic effect of stimulants.

Considering the amount of caffeine in dietary sources, the average person consumes enough from their standard diet to add any thermogenic effect to a stimulant based fat burner (caffeine does help increase the effect of other fat burners) without over doing it on the caffeine. So, if your stimulant and pre-workout Nitric Oxide supplement contains caffeine, perhaps you should look for alternatives that contain other stimulants like yohimbine. They will give you the same boost in the gym with out the negatives. If you want a little extra caffeine, have a cup of coffee.

Caffeine has also been shown at high doses to increase cholesterol levels (suicide for bodybuilders taking anti-estrogens to boost testosterone or people using anabolic steroids since a reduction in estrogen, even in males can cause altered lipid profiles) without showing much of a weight loss effect. High cholesterol is something that a bodybuilder should take very seriously, since the current class of pro-steroids on the market has a chance to alter lipid profiles greatly.

Caffeine is something that is damaging to the body builder who wants to build the most possible muscle, by reducing the sensitivity to insulin. Insulin is a key hormone in building muscle and recovery and its impairment will certainly hamper growth. Also, caffeine makes bodybuilders more susceptible to the dangers of high blood pressure and altered lipid profiles which can worsen the chances of sudden death when combined with anabolic steroids. Interestingly coffee is somewhat different since it has been discovered that coffee contains chlorogenic acid, which has been shown to increase the effect of insulin and reduce the metabolic syndrome effects of caffeine (studies found that drinking coffee did not have the same negative metabolic insulin reducing effect as standard caffeine supplements from Guarana or Caffeine Anhydrous). So, if you must have your "caffeine boost" then take it from Charbucks or better yet a coffee company that has good coffee and leave the synthetic caffeine out of your dietary supplements!

New mlm Ximo Health is rebirth of Ephedra

More than 75% of Americans say at some point they've tried to lose weight. From fad diets, pills, shakes and even hypnosis - people will go to great links to try to lose weight. Though some products work better for others, one line of products that was extremely popular in the 1990s was ephedra.

Companies like E'ola, Metabolife 356, Xenadrine, Ripped Fuel which all sold weight loss products based on the ancient chinese herb "ma huang" were all the rage - combining for more than a billion dollars in annual sales.

Then it came to a disappointing end when the federal regulators banned ephedra alkaloids from products in response to the deaths of several high profile atheletes believed to be taking ephedra based products. People who enjoyed the positive benefits no longer had ephedra to help them boost their metabolism and provide that extra energy kick they had grown accustomed to.

Enter 2010, and the exciting announcement of the launch of the exciting new network marketing company Ximo Health - which brings back to the market the energy and benefits of the "old ephedra" without the past associated health risks.

The banned alkaloids in the "old" Ephedra products were called non-selective beta agonists. This meant they fired all the Neuro and Cardiovascular receptors in your body. By "Neuro" we mean brain function, and by "Cardiovascular", we refer to heart rate and blood pressure.

XIMO (pronounced "zee-moe") contains real ephedra without any of the banned alkaloids. XIMO is effective because it is formulated with Octopamine, a SELECTIVE agonist that doesn't affect the "Cardiovascular" or heart rate/blood pressure functions.

XIMO Golden Ephedra was created to give users the same metabolic and weight-loss effects of the "old" Ephedra, without any of the negative side effects.

With a terrific, fast-acting product that customers can actually feel minutes after using - gaining new customer could be as simple as having them sample it.

From a multi-level marketing business builder perspective, Ximo has a very low autoshipment - only $60 per month, and the low cost of 16 oz bottles of Ximo ($6-8 retail) allow distributors to actually have a retailable product that is perfect for trade-shows, expos, local markets, etc.

Additionally, the company features a unilevel compensation plan that is highly competitive with other network marketing companies. It is easy to understand and easy to explain - unlike many of the new compensation plans being unveiled by start-up network marketing companies.

Ximo Health's Golden Ephedra products are going to be a great option for people looking to boost their metabolism, lose weight and have more energy. Those who choose to build businesses with Ximo should find it to be a great opportunity to get involved with a company at pre-launch and join in the resurgance of ephedra based products for American consumers.

Ximo Health Golden Ephedra A Scam?

By: Rob Wynkoop

Just about any time a new network marketing (multi-level marketing) company opens its doors the first thing a prospective customer or potential home business owner asks, is "is it a scam?"

About the Ximo scam, there is none. The products are of superior quality. Ximo is a real, legal ephedra supplement available in liquid or pill form. I ordered a sample from a distributor and tried a swig of the liquid energy drink and felt the effects almost instantly.

Ximo contains niacin as well as ephedra, caffeine and yohimbe extracts. So as soon as you drink a 2 oz serving (each bottle is 16 oz so you get a good amount for your $6-8 retail bottle) you can feel your face begin to flush a bit (I presume from the niacin), but then you get about 5 hours of sustained energy without the jittery feeling associated with too much caffeine or sugary energy drinks.

Ximo Golden Ephedra liquid energy drink is a tea essentially and has no sugar which is great. It tastes good and works very well. For an example of the sustained energy I felt using the Ximo Golden Ephedra drink, I did a 4.5 mile trail run with a group of my buddies yesterday. Normally, I'm in the back of this pack of 12 younger guys. This time, using the Ximo, without any extra training from the last time, I finished 5th. I felt like I could keep going and going without resting on the trail in spots that I normally would.

So from a product standpoint - it's not a scam. It works and it is legal. Yes, finally the real ephedra without the risky side effects found in pre-ban ephedra products prior to 2004. This product gives you increased energy and a metabolism boost without the risks of heart problems associated with the old ephedra.

The thing that often makes people ask the question of whether or not Ximo is a scam is because it is sold through network marketing. Sometimes people who are not familiar with network marketing or multi-level marketing think these types of companies are pyramid schemes or ponzi's. Quite the contrary - Ximo is a product that is easily retailable. That is - the distributors can buy it wholesale and easily sell the energy drink for $6-8 dollars each and turn a profit every time. You're not dealing with a juice company that charges $120 a month for a single month's supply. In fact, Ximo's cost is half of that.

Second, the unilevel pay plan is well known for being the most fair type of compensation for all members of a network marketing team. It is not structured so the people at the top make all the money off the newest members to the business. It is a very fair plan which actually has no commission caps at the highest levels as well. This means that people can make money from the beginning through real, retail sails and establish a residual income from people who want to sell the products also.

One last thing that makes me sure that Ximo is not a scam. This company gives its distributors their very own website where customers can actually order products. Many MLM companies may provide a replicated website with a name and phone number on it, but very few give a free site to their distributors where people can buy the products at retail with a click of a button. The credit card processing is done through the company and all a distributor has to do is generate traffic to the site.

Overall, I believe that I have shown that there is no scam when it comes to Ximo. It's a great product at a great price with a great system in place to help people open their own home businesses helping others lose weight and have more energy.

Ephedra - Is it a Safe Weight Loss Product?

By: Robert Paris

Ephedra, the most effective weight loss product prior to the FDA's short-lived ban on on it. Some ephedra formulas contain as much as 25 mg's of ephedrine alkaloids.

Up until the short-lived ephedra ban, the industry estimated that 12 million to 17 million Americans were taking around 3 billion doses a year. Why? Because, ephedra, when taken as directed works!

In addition to ephedra's weight-loss benefits, many bodybuilders, athletes and others use this product for its energy properties.

Ephedra also has a diuretic effect and it alters neurotransmission to minimize appetite. The end result is less appetite and a faster metabolism. Some also report that ephedra suppresses appetite.

Recent studies with both humans and laboratory animals have shown ephedrine, the pharmaceutical derivative of ephedra, to be beneficial in promoting weight loss. The main mechanism at work is its thermogenic ability to increase the metabolic rate of adipose tissue thereby enhancing the body's ability to burn fat. Its weight reducing effects are greatest in those who have a low basal metabolic rate. [Tenney, Louise. Today's Herbal Health, 5th edition]

Ma Huang, a variety of ephedra has been used for thousands of years in the Far East in the treatment of colds. Some have used it for sinus problems.

Ephedra also contains fair amounts of such important minerals as zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium, iron and potassium as well as the vitamins thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), vitamins A and C. According to Dr. John R. Christopher, the minerals absorbed by ephedra (as well as other plants) are "live, highly vibrating minerals that can be assimilated into the body and used without side effects."

Ephedra is also a blood purifier, it is a popular folk remedy for such conditions as arthritis, rheumatism, bursitis and other painful muscle and joint problems.

Taken as directed, ephedra is a safe, effective and healthy addition to your weight-loss program.

Ephedra Products - Learn About The History Of Ephedra

By: Brian Bemis

Ephedra is well known all across the United States, along with other countries. Ephedra Products were first introduced in China over 2000 years ago. It was an herbal medicine that would help treat individuals who were suffering from bronchial asthma, flu, cold, wheezing, along with edma. During the autumn also known as the fall season, the ephedra plant is harvested. It is then dried in the sun and sectioned to be prepared for use. Each section of the harvest will be boiled, often times in a honey & water mixture, and then roasted until the remaining water has evaporated. It would then be used as a remedy to help treat typhoid, coughing, colds and other miscellaneous pains.

In Northern India and Pakistan, Ephedra Products have a long history to help relieve symptoms of bronchial asthma. The India and Pakistani culture would use the dried stems of Ephedra Geradiana, which is particular ephedra specie. It has been compared to ephedrine, because they feel it contains the same adrenergic drug. Ephedrine is found in the Ephedracea specie and has a long history as being used as a broncondilator in orthodox medicine.

The areas of West Texas and Northern Mexico, individuals harvested the stem extractions of Ephedra antisyphilitica. This is another ephedra plant specie found in North America and Mexico. It was an herbal remedy to help cure renal diseases that Southwestern American Indians suffered from for a long time. The seeds found in Ephedra nevadensis were also used as an herbal medicine. It was used to relieve the pain and uncomfortable feeling of urogenital diseases. This herbal remedy was processed through the means of roasting and then grinding the seeds into flour. It was then ready to be used for urogential diseases.

Ephedra Products were also prepared much like coffee and tea. It would be brewed into a beverage and then consumed by individuals to obtain its stimulating effects that it would provide them. MaHuang extract comes from the Ephedra sinica and Ephedra equisetina species. It is developed through the same means as instant coffee and is similar in the way it's concentrated.

Many of you have probably heard of Mormon Tea, also known as Desert or Teamaster tea. This was a beverage that provided stimulating effects and was popular among those who settled in the Southwestern part of the United States, along with Mexico. These teas were prepared from the branches of the Ephedra trifurca specie.

Ephedra has also been used as a clinical medicine in the Western Hemisphere. It was traditionally used as a stimulant for the sympathetic nervous system. It provided support to those who suffered from asthma, hayfever, allergies and arthritis. Ephedra Products as medicine would help break body fevers and clear clogged sinusus, as well as raising blood pressure. It is well known to improve your alertness and perception. In the United States ephedrine is found in several Over The Counter (OTC) Medicines, such as Sudafed, which is used as a nasal decongestant. Ephedrine is the main active chemical from MaHuang.

Today in the United States, Ephedra Products have been used as an aid to promote weight loss and has been for over 20 years. Ephedra Weight Loss Products is also referred to as MaHuang. It is the alkaloid chemical that's collected from the plant Ephedra Sinica. These diet pills began to receive attention from the FDA in the early 1990's, when they began collecting information and investigating adverse events from ephedra use. There were several proposals to regulate the use of ephedra products, along with attempts to ban sales in the United States.

Due to adverse side effects, the FDA commissioned Rand Corporation to perform extensive research and analyze the safety and efficacy of Ephedra. Throughout the study it confirmed that Ephedra Products did promote weight loss, however there was the potential of side effects for those who use ephedra diet pills. It was also mentioned that ephedra use could increase health risks, which include heart attack, stroke and the possibility of death.

After the analysis of Rand Corporation, the FDA then proposed a ruling of limiting sales of Ephedra Products that contained 8mg or more of ephedra alkaloids which is from the sinica family. The FDA also wanted to enforce stricter labels on the products to warn consumers the potential side effects and health risks. This ruling occurred in 1997 and was then withdrawn in 2000 by the FDA.

In 2004, the FDA pursued a ban to restrict the sales of Ephedra Products and it was a success. Judge Tena Campbell of the Federal District Cour in Utah then later overturned the ban on April 15, 2005. Ephedra Products containing 10mg or less a day of ephedrine alkaloids, where allowed to sold. It was stated that this amount did not pose a risk.

On August 17, 2006, a federal appeals court upheld the FDA Ban on ephedra, which overturned the 2005 ruling of Judge Tena Campbell. The FDA stated that there is no dose of dietary supplements formulated with ephedrine alkaloids that was safe. It was also mentioned that the sales of weight loss products containing ephedrine alkaloids was illegal and subject to enforcement action.

In 2007, Nutraceutical Corporation filed a petition with the 10th Circuit of US Court of Appeals, however the US Supreme Court refused to hear their petition. To this date the sales of weight loss products containing ephedrine alkaloids are prohibited regardless of the daily dose!

So, where does that leave Ephedra Products today? Well, manufacturers began doing extensive research to find the next best thing and they were successful. Now, Ephedra Products are being formulated from Ephedra viridis, also known as Mormon Tea. Ephedra Products that are labeled as Ephedra viridis, Mormon tea or Ephedra extract are legal to buy and sell.

When the FDA enforced the Ephedra Ban, it was for products containing ephedrine alkaloids from the ephedra sinica plant. The truth is there are several different species of ephedra plants and the FDA did not ban all of them. In all reality they didn't even ban the plant ephedra, just products containing ephedrine alkaloids.

There have been thousands of reviews on the new formulated Ephedra Products, with most of them being positive. Consumers compare them to be as effective as the weight loss products containing ephedrine alkaloids.

So, the rumor that has been flying around for a few years that ephedra products are banned is a Myth. Once again, products containing ephedrine alkaloids are currently banned and cannot be bought or sold in the United States. However, the ban did not prohibit Ephedra viridis, Mormon tea or Ephedra extract, which are currently being used in today's Ephedra Products.
